Is there a quality/tone difference between the 2 and 4 conductor Ibanez QM's?

They are all made in Japan. The 4 cons come with really expensive gtrs like the newer prestige sabers. The 2 conductor came with cheaper guitars like the destroyer reissue.

I bought a pair of 2 cons on e8ay for $21. Will they sound high-quality? Will they be muddy, nice, clear, dead, etc?

I always thought they just used 4-conductor versions in their H-H guitars so they could wire the neck hum in parallel, while for H-S-H guitars all they need is 2-conductors for the standard wiring config. I always assumed they were the same exact pickup otherwise.

Check out the wiring diagram for an H-H S with QM's:

And one that's H-S-H:

I have a 2 conuctor H-H set that was used in a reissue destroyer with a 3 way toggle switch. The guitar was never made for parallel or splitting capability.

What I meant was they use the 4-conductor version when they want to be able to wire it in parallel, 2-conductor otherwise. I know not all H-H Ibanezes have the neck in parallel option.
