I spoke with Dimarzio regarding the Jem 10's pickups loosing their finish. They said that when they made these for Ibanez they informed Ibanez that these pickups, which are not a chrome but an aluminum, would do this. Since the release of the jem 10, dimarzio has came out with an actual chrome top evo. For Jem 10 owners they are doing a replacement of the old pickups for new chrome top evo's for the neck and
bridge pickups and a chrome cover for the single pickup. New chrome pups are about $180 a piece and they are exchanging them for a $50/pup. Turnaround time is 1-2 weeks.
If someone has done this swap, would you post pictures of before and after. It would be greatly appreciated. For those who have, what would you recommend for those of us considering it? What effect if any does it have on the collectibility if you change them out? The Dimarzio representative told me it should increase value. Any thoughts?
Thanks
