I have just been modelling the original Jem body from the blueprint plans in Autocad. I've not had any training in it and it's the first time I've used the program. It's surprisingly easy and *almost* all the info you need is there on the blueprint. The only extra you need is a tiny bit of trigonometry knowledge . I only have the
monkey grip to go... If you want to learn Autocad "on the job" then this is a brilliant way to do that.
Be aware though that the RG body .dxf file available on the web is infact not entirely accurate - especially around the inside arcs of the horns.
Here are a few (fairly badly!) rendered drawings of the guitar so far without the monkeygrip.

If you want a more accurate .dxf or .dwg file of a blank Jem body so you can make your own, email me

Can somebody supply the routing dimensions for the extra rear routing of a front routed Jem/RG? Is that cavity the only difference?
