JemVWH7 - what single coil is in there?

I have an older JEM from 1998 with ebony fretboard and the old tremolo. I wondered what type of single coil is in there? Anyone knows if it's alnico or ceramic?

It's not a pickup that's offered stock by DiMarzio, but I believe I read somewhere that either Dimarzio or Steve said that it's very similar to an HS-2.

Do you mean it's not a real single coil but hum canceling? I cannot remember if my middle position hums, because i never use it... Have to try it tomorrow...

But it seems to be Alnico from the look of the pole pieces (= rod magnets).

No, it's a true single coil. In DiMarzio's FAQ, they say the JEM single sounds a lot like an HS-2 wired for single-coil operation only.
