Re: Lead free Solder

sounds like maybe you wired your d-activator in parallel or something.

Re: Lead free Solder

nah, its just the temperature that lead-free melts at is about 100 degrees (or so) higher than leaded solder - some people use silver solder saying that it makes a difference to signal quality.
RSVampire is possible right about the parallel wiring.

swap those round mate - assuming that when you say first terminal you mean the one closest to the neck - or closest towards the neck rather than closer to the edge of the body.

Red - terminal 1
B/W - terminal 6
Green and braid to ground

I reckon thats your problem bud.

does that mean its OK now ?
it could even be something silly like pickup height...

so in all:

B/W - terminal 6
red = terminal 1
green and braid to earth...

after that select the pickup with your amp on etc, get pos 1 on the 5-way and physically tap the coils with something metallic - are both coils producing a sound ?

Re: Lead free Solder

yeah i did the coil test thing with a metallic screw driver and it seems ok. the pup height both of them are pretty much at the top. the neck is still considerably louder.

Re: Lead free Solder

Lower your neck pickup. The neck position is naturally louder than the bridge position.

its a joke, Eric is a total anal perfectionist who could probably hear the difference between a black and a white mouse just by listening to its farts.

Re: Lead free Solder

No silver solder no no no - that's for PLUMBING!

Eric J reckons he can hear the difference between using different brands of batteries in his FuzzFace!

Actually, having seen EJ live (and he's probably my favourite guitarist EVER!) I have to admit I found his tone a bit disappointing.
