Ok, well the evo 2 is just an evo with alittle less output. You get a decent clean tone out of the evo 2. The evo2 isnt as shrill as the evo also.

The difference is the less shrill, no ice pick and a bit warmer all else are the same, same screaming harmonics, screamy as it is and still retain the tightness of an evo.

Which Jems come with an EVO 2?

I probably could check this via the Spec charts but I'm feeling kinda lazy.

Cheers.

Nope. also note that the EVO II is mainly a bridge pickup and sounds awesome with an Evo in the neck

Cheers

Yeah and paf pro as well, I used evo neck with evo2 in a while, but wanted to try paf pro and it paf pro is much better. It compliments everything about evo2, evo neck is too fat sometimes.

I like the EVO II a lot, and I don't think it has as much "treble" as the original EVO.

I far prefer the Evo II. What everyone said...nicer clean tone to my ears, not as shrill, not as trebly. Cleans up a lot better with the volume down too.

Re: Lets talk EVO Vs EVO II

I have an Evolution (bridge) and I´m planning to change it for an Evo2. The Evolution is too bright and harsh to my ears.
How about the Evo2 for metal?
I´m looking for something with more crunch and chunk in the rhythms.
Does the Evo2 has what it takes for serious metal riffing?
If the Evo2 has the same harmonic response that the original Evo and is warmer and fatter, I´ll be more than pleased...

I know EVOs aren't that good on transistor amps, is this the same for EVO IIs?

Give it a shot. I think it's a pretty good metal pickup for sure.

Definitely a good metal pickup, I think it's pretty versatile as well, it can handle classic rock very well too.

Re: Lets talk EVO Vs EVO II

A lot has to do with how you dial in your amp. I've noticed over the past few years I've really been cranking the treble back.
