Looking for a new bridge pup

Hi,

So I've got this new great UCEWQM (or maybe FM.. hard to tell.) and it has the "stock" PAF PRO pups.

I want more power to the bridge, as I mostly play metal (black, thrash, death.. you name it - I'll make it extreme.)
I was thinking either X2N or TZ.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks.

Re: Looking for a new bridge pup

Take your pick from the list

Dimarzio
Tone Zone, Air Zone, Evo, Evo 2, Breed, Steve's Special, X2N

Seymour Duncan
JB, Custom, Custom Custom, Custom 5, Invader, Dimebucker, Distortion

And then there's always the EMG 81, 85 and 89 pickups if you want to go the active route.

I had to switch the stock PAF Pro's on my UCEWFM the first day I got it. I ended up tossing in a JB/Jazz set in mine.

I'd go with an X2N. What kind of amp do you play through?

I run to a Peavey Bandit 80W, but it's the old model, pre-Transtube series. With a Scorpion 12" speaker.
Its distortion is pretty awesome, better than some tubes I've played on.
(Although to be honest, I played them straight, without any boosters.)

X2N should do the job.

Re: Looking for a new bridge pup

I was talking to friend just now and although he and I carry different approaches to music and gain, he recommended me choosing the DSonic instead of the X2N which is too wild to control.

Anyone has any experience with it?
(Even though the chances are for me to get the X2N eventually. I would like to hear some opinions)

Re: Looking for a new bridge pup

So... after I was talking to some people and everyone was like "No.. the X2N is too high.. bla bla" and offered me the TZ or DSonic.
At first I was like no no.. and then I spoke to a friend who said something to got to me. The maple top gives a treble boost, so does the X2N, maybe I should take something that would compensate that.

So I've ordered the TZ just now. I hope that it will get here soon, and that I'll get it installed as soon as well..

Thanks for the recommendations!
