Mahogany Question, wich pickup for RG520QS?

I just have an RG520QS, has the V7 and V8 pu`s, love the tone of the wood, but i´m not sure wich pickups to switch for the original ones, i`m looking for a classic tone, not vai, not satriani... good strong classic tone, some kind of les paul clean sounds... i was thinking maybe seymor duncans alnico II (like slash)... any suggestions??? maybe dimarzio paf pros?

thanks!

Paf Pro set on the Dimarzio side, and JB/Jazz on the Duncan side.

i use the air norton tone zone combo in mine. it can handle it all. the jazz, jb would be good as well. i have that combo in a few mahogany axes as well.

Get a set of DiMarzio Virtual PAFs. They might be exactly what you're looking for. There are sound clips on DiMarzio's website, go and listen.

Norton / Air Norton should work just fine as well.

Re: Mahogany Question, wich pickup for RG520QS?

mmm still not shure... i tried the pafs on the Jem 77FP... and sounded amazing... real clasic tone (trough a fender bassman)... but not sure how it would sound on mahogany with maple neck.

i just got an ibanez radster with the orignial V2... wow thats the sound i want... there is so MUCH difference... any dimarzio or seymor close to the v2 sound? (for bridge)... maybe a paf pro for neck?

thanks guys

I bet the Air Norton in the neck and Fred in the bridge would sound nice.

The closest you can get to V2 with DiMarzio is Air Zone
