Mid position PU TZ-S or Fastrack 2

Hi guys,

Have any of you ever used either a TZ-S or a Fasttrack 2 pickup in the middle position in a Basswood body guitar?

I plan to put in a Super Distortion, and a Super 2 and want to know which would match up better in the middle.

Thanks

As it seems no one is using either Pickup, may I then ask what pickup are you using in the middle position?

The question is aimed more at those with high output buckers.

Thanks

One of my friends had a 770 with a PAF Pro, Fast Track (1 or 2, can't remember), and Tone Zone. I remember it sounding pretty good in all the positions, but think it was a pain to wire the "split positions" with essentially 3 humbuckers.

I tend to like the Blue Velvet--it is relatively high output for a single coil and can "hold its own" with hotter humbuckers. I've used it in combinations with Evolutions (basswood), Tone Zone/Air Norton (mahogany), Steve's Special/PAF Pro (mahogany), Super 3/FRED (mahogany), Breeds (mahogany and basswood), probably a few others, and it's never let me down yet.

Hey Brent,

Thanks for that. I did ask Dimarzio about it and they answered exactly the same as you (it's going to be really tough to wire the 4-wire mid).

I'll check out the BV and make a decision.

Cheers
