Middle pickup. Do I really need RW/RP?

OK...I'm going to install an F1 in the bridge of my RG, an F2 in the neck and I'd love to find a C3 for the middle, but cannot find one...so I'm going to try a Blue Velvet bridge pup in the middle since that's the next closest thing, as per Dimarzio

Since this is going in the middle, I'd assume I should get on that's RW.

However, would that be different than getting just a regular Blue Velvet bridge??

No you dont need it to be RW/RP. Some people say going with the RW/RP you lose some of the "Strat Quack" in positions 2 and 4.

DiMarzio doesn't offer the Blue Velvet any more, it was replaced by the True Velvet.

But on RW/RP: being a 100% strat player (as of now), I don't like RW/RP. True, it's not in series with the bridge or neck pickup in the 2 and 4 positions, but you do lose quack if you get RW/RP. Deal with the noise, the quack is worth it.

Re: Middle pickup. Do I really need RW/RP?

I have a similar question because I have the opportunity to buy a sparingly used Blue Velvet Neck but the seller isn't sure whether it's RW/RP. Assuming it is not (since it's a neck pup), I'm curious to know whether there is any noise in the 2 and 4 positions when playing clean.

Thanks!
