I feel that the Tone Zone is "harsher" for lack of a better word. I don't know if that's the same as "aggressive". It just sounds nastier. I had a Tone Zone in the bridge and PAF Pro in the neck of an S and it was by one of the best sounding guitars I have ever owned.

Yet, I prefer the smoothness of the Breed. When playing leads every note accents so well and sounds almost symphonic. I don't think DiMarzio has made a better pickup than this.

Re: More Aggressive Leads Tove Zone or Breed

Plus all these questions aren't worth crap. To be honest you can ask all you want, but you'd be better off just trying them yourself mate. So go to a store pick-up a Jem with some breeds, which shouldn't be hard and then if you want to hear the SS, you buy the pick-up and install it. It's cheap anyways.

That's the best advice i can give cause tone is definately subjective and you might go out there and buy a pick up that a few members liked and end up disliking it. Don't waste your time and theirs, and ya soldering is simple. I was swapping out my pick-ups when i was 13 so i doubt you'll have any trouble.

Re: More Aggressive Leads Tove Zone or Breed

Neither of those pickups, to be honest. They both place more emphasis on mids and bass than treble.

For aggressive leads, a lot of treble is a must.
