My JEM wiring messed up?

Hi folks,

It's been a long time (1999) since i exchanged my Evolutions for Breeds in my white JEM. Now i'm installing Seymour Duncans and by looking at the DiMarzio wiring diagrams the colors don't match.

Bare and white are soldered to ground, black is hot. Red & green are soldered together and wired at the coil tapping position of the selector. I'm wondering now, what have i done???

It seems i have completely reversed the wiring. But have i messed it all up? Or did the PUs function normally, but with reversed polarity? Did i have disadvantages in comparison to the standard wiring? Maybe they sounded wrong all the time?

Questions, questions, questions. I hope someone can help me see through here...

But essentially i wanted to know if my sound has suffered by wiring the pickups completely reversed. Any ideas?

BUmp an old thread because my 2002 7VWH is wired exactly the same. Black is hot, Red/green together, white and bare to volume pot case.

This is the factory configuration. I have owned the guitar since new and am just now changing the Evo to an Evo II. Is there anything wrong with this wiring scheme?

Providing both humbuckers are wired like this, and the single coil is wired in the same way (there are 2 versions on the Ibanez site, one with red and black and one with red and green, usually the red wouold be the Earth, I guess in your configuration the other wire would be earth) then everything should be equivalent.

My RG750s were wired similar to this from the factory, just switch the black and white wires. All that has been done, is the coil configuration has been altered to that the correct coil is selected along with the middle pickup in the 2 and 4 positions. Since OEM DiMarzios have the logo on them, they can't just rotate the pickup.
