DiMarzio's site usually makes recommendations about which position pickups are best used in.
Evo, Tone Zone and Steve's Special i think are all normally recommended for the
bridge position
since they're very hot. PAF Pro makes a nice
neck pickup
from what i've read, but might not be powerful enough to balance well with an Evo and/or Tone Zone.

Vai doesn't really play floral JEMs any more, does he?
All JEM models used
PAF Pros
in both neck and bridge for the first couple of years. Then he and DiMarzio developed the Breed, and finally the Evolution. His guitars have always had matched bridge/neck pickups, with the JEM single in the middle.

What kind of guitar are you putting them in? What kind of sound are you going for? Both are important questions. I just put a Tone Zone in the bridge and an Air Classic "Bridge" in the neck of a RG550, sounds great. The TZ is too bassy in some guitars though.

I say again,paf-pro's ... If you want the sound a wee bit beefier EVO's neck and bridge

Go to
DiMarzio.com
and read the descriptions on each of the models and what they suggest pairing them up with.
The PAF Pro would work well in the
neck position
with any of the
bridge pickups
you mentioned.
