New JS1000 Pickups!

Hazaa! I finally sneezed down and snagged 2 new pickups for my JS1000BTB. I bought a Screamin Demon for the bridge (already have it in my other guitar and love it!) and an Air Norton for the neck. I'm gunna soft wire (wire them in with no solder) tomarrow after work and tell you guys how they sound!!!

alrighty......I got into a problem...I wired the Seymour Duncan in the bridge and wired everything to how it was before (green to green red to red black to black and so on) so all the wires are in the same place. Coil Cutter isn't working....any tips?

So, if I'm reading this right, you wired in the Duncan the way the original Dimarzio was?

If yes, this is your problem. Duncan wire color-code is not the same as Dimarzio's. Green is still ground, but on the Duncan, Black is Hot, and Red+White is the tap(or series) connection. [note: you might have phasing issues between the two company's pickups.. If the center position of the switch sounds 'funny' or weak, reverse the green and black wires on the Duncan.]

If that's not it, I'm not sure what's going on there...

Seymour Duncan's color codes are not the same as Dimarzio's. You'll have to wire it up like this:
Dimarzio Color Seymour Duncan Color
Red = Black
Green = Green (Ground)
Black = White
White = Red

I'm pretty sure this is correct. Just try it and see.

alright I got it all working. Air Norton sounds killer in the neck position! Very round but not bassy....love it. Only complaint, is my deamon is making a sorta poping sound sometimes...kind of a popping sizzle sound..not all the time...just sometimes...any suggestions?

yeah the middle position sounds a lil funny...the neck pickup doesn't seem to be on almost at all...so I'll try and switch the green and black wire tonight and see how it sounds.
