New pickups for RG350 DX

Hi all,

I need high output pup for bridge and some moderate to high to neck. Since it's a basswood guitar it's gonna be DiMarzio pups. I'm aiming for sound of Nightwish. I also play a lot of iced earth and demons and wizards, synergy, inflames so it has to be some heavy bridge pickup. I was thinking maybe d-activators will do the job, or i have to use x2n for bridge, and something else for neck...
I played my friends LTD with seymours, jb tb-4 bridge and sh2 neck, and i just loved the sound, and clean is like from heaven, but seymours can sound trebly in basswod...

So what do you guys recommend for me?

I'd try a set of the new DiMarzio Deativator X pickups...
Sounds like exactly what you are going for...

If you're looking for the Nightwish sound go with a Trembucker in the Bridge and a Jazz in the neck as that's what Emppu uses on both of his Horizons.

If you want to use the X2N for a bridge pickup its iffy to find something that could go with it as I dealth with that problem for a while. You could do an X2N/D-Activator combo if you wanted.

I know but I don't think that seymours sound well in basswood, thats the only issue.

Yea, D-activators sound liek what you want. Heavy and solid sound. For my 350, I went with Air Norton in the neck, a Jem Mid, and Evo for the bridge. I get Petrucci's solid leads and Vai's dirty rhythm sounds, but that might not be heavy enough for you, you probly need something with even more output so try D-Activators with PAF Pros or somethin.

Good Luck!
