noise with D-Sonic 7

Hey folks!

I know this ain't new - but the D-Sonic 7 is a bit noisy for a high-tech Pickup.
Does anyone know if

- the D-Sonic 6-string is also that noisy

and if

- there's a way to reduce the noise without a gate? Even when playing with different dynamics the noise is still noticable. That sucks...
Perhaps I can connect the ground differently or something?
Somewhere in a forum I read that one managed this...
