PAF pro? best utility PAF?

I asked before about about the best paf in high gain and am considering the PAF pro for both neck and bridge of my RG?
what i want is a paf that is very clear, has more power then normal and still has some paf twang?

You know, I was going to toss into that previous thread a little note like "Don't put a PAF Pro in the bridge" because there's really not much that is PAF-ish about that pickup. It's really hyperactivated in the treble region. It will probably be perfect in the neck, but I'd use something else in the bridge. I had one in the bridge of a guitar once when it was all I had left over. It didn't take long before I swapped it out and now its back in the neck of another guitar. I mean, you might love it, but I think its too screechy. And its really lacking in the lows for a bridge pickup. It will be awesome in the neck but I'd couple it with the Virtual PAF bridge or PAF classic bridge. Both of those aren't really true PAF's anyway, they're PAF's with a "little extra kick".

Again you might love it, but lots of old Jem owners don't like it in the bridge. If you can try it first on an old Jem, or on an EB/MM Silouhette, you should.

you can also check out the Fred and Paf Joe combo that Satriani uses now, both heavily based on the Paf Pro just with more mids.

I love the PAF Pro in the bridge position, but I agree with Frank's summary of its tonal characteristics.

It's a very single coil-esque sounding humbucker to my ears but it works rediculously well with high gain downtuning as there're no lows to get muddy at all so everything stays nice and tight.

It also cleans up probably better than any other JEM standard pickup inthe bridge for really snappy "in-between" tones.

thanks guys i really like satch boogie and all the stuff blues saraceno did with the pro as well as Paul gilbert with Mr big
i will give it a shot in the bridge and IF i no likey i can still use it in the neck
see there are not too many overwound paf that i like? the demon i hated,
the classic 57 plus sound ice pickey
and the boutique pafs are too much cash for a pup
i am also considering the duncan blues saraceno pup that was made for him in thier custom shop after he stopped using the paf pros's and went to duncan
