PGM wiring (no tone!)

Hey folks, i was thinking about wiring an axe like a PGM, with no tone control, and then i remembered reading something about PGMs having some sort of strange wiring that made positions 2 and 4 sound just like it would with a tone pot engaged on full...

is this so?

(hope the question wasnt too confusing!)
