Pickup Combo

I've got an Evolution and Air Norton in my Jackson RR3 (Alder body) and while I'm fairly happy with both (I don't really use the Norton) I'd like to experiment with something else.

I play rhythm in a metal band and would like a bridge pickup with really nice lows and mids for chugging and riffs but at the same time will have a nice lead tone too. I was primarily looking at the D-Sonic and Tone Zone but I'm not sure which would be better, or if there are others out there.
For the neck pickup I would like something similar to the Air Norton but with more bite. The AN just sounds too smooth for me. Would the Breed accomplish this?

I've posted this pretty much everywhere without any help but hopefully you guys will be nice enough to give me some advice.

The breeds, in my opinion, would be a good fit for what you are looking for.

Re: Pickup Combo

D-sonic with the bar facing the bridge would suit better than the TZ.
Breed neck could work but it's more warm and smooth, not more "bite"... maybe a Paf Pro?

Re: Pickup Combo

Unscrew the Air Norton and physically turn the pickup around (ie the screw side toward the bridge) you will be suprised. No need to re wire but make sure there is enough wire to flip it

I think I might try this but what exactly does it achieve? I'm not the brightest when it comes to tech stuff like that.

Re: Pickup Combo

Well after researching a little more I think I'm gonna go with a D-Sonic/PAF Pro combo. Thanks for the help guys. Can't wait to hear these 2 in action.

Re: Pickup Combo

Evo2 and paf pro combo is awesome as well, evo2 gives you tight and punchy rhythm and it scream when it comes to lead. The paf pro is a paf pro always will be the most famous neck pickup.
