I took my guitar apart about a month or two ago and I messed around with the pickups. I flipped them around just to see if it had any effect and changed the height so that the
neck pickup would be at the height of the rest of the fretboard if it carried on.
It improved the sound on these cheap things I have a lot, and they really do sound like they're worth more than they are! I was looking to tackle the pots too and change the tone control to work with my neck pickup instead of the bridge.
I have no clue of electronics, I don't even know what a pot is

If anyone has any sites or any ideas that I should be aware off before I start touching funky-coloured cables that'd be grand. I am totally clueless with electronics and am limited to knowing that two ends of a wire connect different stuff.
I'll photograph my guitar's belly this morning and post it here.
Will this have any effect whatsoever in my sound? I'm a perfectionist and I like to customize even the last detail, so I'm considering getting new pots if it does anything for my guitar. I'm interested with changing the tone control though as now that I've changed
pickup height my neck pickup sounds that much better and I use it a lot more than my bridge one.
Cheers.
