Question

Pickup help for an RG

Hi guys, im new here and I need help finding a pickup for my guitar.

I have a Ibanez RGR420EX

Specs:
* 3-piece Wizard II neck
* Sharktooth inlay
* Reverse headstock
* IBZ V7 and V8 pickups
* Edge III tremolo bridge
* Gotoh tuners

I like dragonforce's distortion sound quite a bit.

My questions are:
1. If I were to add a Dimarzio Evo to my guitar would it sound good or bad tonewise?
I ask because my guitar is Basswood and I don't know if it would be a good combo.

2. or should i just put a pickup I already have on a diffferent guitar(seymour duncan SH6-distortion).

The Evo works for me in basswood. I have it in one of my basswood RGs and in my JEM10 which is my favourite guitar.

You have to be careful about using terms like "good and bad" when applied to tone, one man's good tone is another man's nightmare tone and so on.

The Evo has a very distinctive sound and so tends to make itself heard in any setup.
