Pickup Suggestions for My RG550.

I need some suggestions for replacement pickups in 91' RG550 which still has the stock pickups installed, as the previous owner neglected to replace them. I don't have much experience with pickups in general so bear with me. For the bridge pickup I'd like some thing that is similar to the bridge pickup on the RG20th but with more 'chunk'. I like that the bridge pickup in the 20th is bright without being shrill. Perhaps a PAF Pro or D-Sonic would fit the bill?

For the neck I would like some thing that's reasonably bright and has a tight low-end so that the low notes stand out from one another, as opposed 'smearing' together. I have a PAF Pro in the neck of a Ibanez Pro Line 1660 (alder body, maple neck, ebony fretboard) and I find that it suffers from this problem, although it isn't too terrible.

For the single coil I have no idea what put there; I am considering going noiseless though.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Pickup Suggestions for My RG550.

Pickup choices are something you really have to just play around with and are very much a personal thing. It took me nearly 20 years and every type of pickup under the sun before I settled on what I've got now. Everyone can tell you what sounds good to them but it has to sound good to you otherwise that's a whole load of $ down the toilet.

Take a look at what is out there, try as many as you can and just go with what sounds good to you. Don't feel as though you have to stick to Dimarzio either. There are a whole load of other great pickups waiting to be loved

Thanks for the advice, scotty and FR0D0! Are the EVO2 and EVO suitable for metal, specifically 80s' heavy metal, and thrash metal?
