What would be some good pickup choices for this guitar?
I'm looking for an extremely high gain sound, that would compliment my JSX with little to no noise...I like a treble-mid focused sound, that cuts through the mix, but works with the quietest soft pop music (my main band/session work) and the most extreme
death metal (my other band, think Necrophagist/The Faceless, a really clean articulate high gain tone with easy harmonics)
So far I'm thinking of the D Activator Bridge and Neck, and then a nice stratty single coil middle (preferably not blade, already have a blade single in my RG550 and, while the tone is great, I would prefer something different for my backup / alternate guitar)
I highly prefer DiMarzios, but I'm open to anything. Any suggestions?
