Pickups for RG-520QS

I am currently replacing my pickups in my RG-520. It has a mahogany body. I think I've settled on an Air Norton in the neck, but im not sure what would be good for the bridge. I love the Tone Zone, but I think it might be too muddy for the mahogany in this guitar, though I've seen them in this guitar. Those who have this guitar, what would you recommend? I was thinking an Super Distortion, Evolution, , or possibly a JB. Im open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that I play hard rock/metal, and shred.

Re: Pickups for RG-520QS

In my experience, the super distortion is way too dark and does not do pinch harmonics very good. Also, dimarzio has a 30 day exchange service so if you think you choose the wrong one, DON'T hesitate to return it. I don't have much experience with the Tone Zone in mahogany, but in Alder it sounds amazing. I don't think body wood could change it that much, but you never know...

Super's sound great in Les Paul's and they're mahogany. Think about whether or not you want to sound the same as everyone, or a bit different. You can get a used pup in the bay for 35 bucks; go a little crazy maybe. A JB would sound godly, as would a Steve Morse Bridge. While you can't return a used pickup, you can probably get what you paid for it if you spend wisely. I'd bet an Evo would sound great. Bartolinis are always nice

Well if you don't think the ToneZone is for you, then you might want to look into the JB or maybe an EVO. I never really liked the Super Distortion...just doesn't have the kind of sound that screams "metal."

I like the Steve's Special, it's a hot pickup, but doesn't sound as hot as a Tone Zone because the frequencies are more balanced. It may or may not work for you, just worth considering.
