Pickups wearing out?

I don't know if you guys can help but on my '89 FP the bridge PAF P/U doesn't seem to be as powerful as the neck..... BUT.... the Neck P/U when at high volume feeds back terribly.

Is this the Bridge P/U wearing out, or the neck P/U?

When I bought the Guitar (8 Years ago) I remember one of the things I loved about it was how well balanced it was..... It ain't no more, Help!

Try cleaning the pots and the pick up switch, check for loose solder joints on the pots & switch. Does moving the pick up closer to the strings help?

It's very possible both pickups are going bad. They're 13 years old - it happens.

If the above mentioned solutions don't help, two new pink PAFs (*cough cough*) will only run you about $120-130 at your local retailer or even thru Universal Jems, a Jemsite sponsor (click above).

putting a few bucks into an 'old' guitar never hurt anybody.

If thats the case, Would you recomend putting PAF's back in? If not What, and should the single coil be replaced too, to match. What P/Up's would you all recomend Evo's, Breed, Tone Zone, Fred? what are their respectice merits?

One other thing, Do you think that an FP would look the same if I replaced the pickups with a colour OTHER than pink, if I replaced the Knobs and selector cap the same?

You could change em to black blue, green, I think since there is so much color in a floral anyways, just about anything would like nice
