Piezos, Preamps, choices....

I'm considering throwing a piezo-equipped bridge on an SG Supreme, and saw that LR Baggs has has a T-Bridge and there is also a FAAS Tune-O-Matic style bridge. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which company may be better, and/or easier to install. Also, what kind of setups do Jemsiters prefer on their piezo-equipped axes (switching options and whatnot)? Any advice would be helpful, I'd like to make the best decision before possibly cutting and drilling the guitar. Thanks!

I could be wrong, but i don't think an SG is going to have enough room on board for the battery and preamp electronics, unless you route out a very large second control cavity.

If you do go for it, run stereo out, and send your piezo signal to its own acoustic amp or PA. Piezos sound like crap through guitar amps.

For on-board switching, you probably want to have a mag/both/piezo mini-switch and either a blend pot or a separate volume control for the piezo signal.

If you have cash to spend, check out the Yamaha AG-Stomp....I actually bought one. They sound incredible and give an element of dimension to a piezo equipped axe. It's pretty expensive $400 and pretty complex but it would be killer direct to a board and out the PA or straight into a good soundcard.

I ended up returning mine, not because I didn't like it, but because it added too much complexity to my rig. I am in simplification/portability/max tone mode now.
