This may not be a related suggestion, however the old IBZUSA C2 pickup is an excellent option for a regular single coil slot.

Use the DiMarzio Super Distortion S--it won't let you down. I had one in the bridge of a Strat and it killed--perfect Super Distortion sound. I now have one in the bridge of a Tele -- The Super Distortion T--check out the sound clips on the Jemsite Comparison Shopping section.
