OK, I've wired up a bunch of guitars, but always had wiring diagrams for them. I have a guitar that I want to wire up. I found essentially the wiring diagram that I want, but I want to make a small mod to it, and don't know how.
The guitar is an RG w/ 2 HBs, a single 5-way switch, 1 Vol, 1 Tone.
I plan to get a super switch from Stew-Mac and probably a decent cap on fleabay. I'll probably get new pots too, and I'm thinking that I'll need 1 to be a push-pull.
Here is thee wiring diagram that I want to slightly alter (I'd provide it as a link but I need 16 more posts to this site to do so!):
dimarzio.com/media/diagrams/E.pdf
The mod that I want to make is in position 3 where both
humbuckers are turned on, I'd like to have the option via push/pull to have those 2 HBs in series or
parallel. Also IF say pulling up on the pot gives a series, then I need it so that the position of the push/pull pot has no effect on the sounds for positions 1,2,4,&5. For this guitar, this is probably all I really need.
Please, consider me a wiring-idiot, and make an explanations for alterations as clear as possible! :-D
Thanks!
