Hi. I hate to just show up out of the blue asking for help, but I'm kinda stumped. I put Bill Lawrence L-500's in my S470 in March. I got it wired up okay and they seemed to work great. While I continued to play this guitar between March and now, I went a long time without plugging it in. I plugged it in the other day and it wasn't working. I didn't see any wires loose, so I went ahead and unsoldered everything and rewired it. But I can't get it to work this time. My luck must have run out.
What I've got is two L-500's, a megaswitch P, and a Q-filter (a filter from Bill Lawrence which is wired to the tone control.) Here are some schematics:
When I plug the guitar in it makes sound, but it's some sorry sound. Flat and raspy. I'm almost certain I've got it wired correctly according to the diagrams. So my guess is that one or more of the tiny thin wires has broken inside the insulation or one of my components is shot (though when I installed the pickups I replaced all of the components). It could definitely be operator error. It could be anything I guess. I've got an ohmmeter and I was poking around testing continuity but that really didn't do me any good because I don't know exactly what to look for when doing that.
Am I missing something? I guess I'm just looking for suggestions. I think I'll buy some wire and replace what's already in there and just keep trying until it works. Thanks.
