hello everyone its my first post!
I was just wondering if its possible to wire in a humcanceling single coil into a non multi pole 5 way. And if so does it effect the sound of the single coil at all?

Im not sure im understanding you.. You want to wire it in single coil mode only? or do you want to run it in humbucker mode

here i'll tell you the whole story. I baught a pair of evo's and a hs-2 single coil for my rg550dy and i currently have the evos wired in. The part that is causing all of this trouble is that the hs-2 is a hum canceling and to make it work you need a multipole 5 way switch which i dont have and the dimarzio website doesnt have a wiring diagram for my situation so i dont really know what to do other than order a new 30 dollar multi pole switch. And i could really live without doing that so i was just wondering if i can still wire it in with a standard 5 way switch.

Aaron - one thing you can do, obviously, is leave all three pickups in non-tapped mode (ie: just the hot to switch and ground to the back of the vol pot - don't know how good the in between sounds will be, but it will work, and all settings will be hum-cancelling.
