Re: REALLY need ur advise on pickup selection

Steve's special for scooped mids (more definition on articulate stuff)
Tone Zone for lots of bass...
Evo for general nuts and crazy

Hmm... MAYBE D Sonic with the blade facing the bridge....though I can see that getting toppy....

Re: REALLY need ur advise on pickup selection

All i know about PAF joes are that satch has really bad tone. I cant get enough of TZ bridge, coil split with air norton neck. Both are very bassy and can be very aggressive or extremely clean as well. I dont know much about middles. I think evos are best suited together espeicially since they are a both so much louder than most other pups. Hope that helps

Re: REALLY need ur advise on pickup selection

The only anigdote to your dilema is that u will most propably own more guitars later on and will be able to have a guitar with every pikup u want so just make sure u choose 2 or 3 that r suited to each other. ive found that ppl like having a middle for the scooped sound in the 3rd and 4th positions but you can get an even more scooped sound with a coil split with 2 Humbukers.

If you go 3 then that would be what id get, although you will have to buy a multipole switch for a fast track which costs $60AU, thats y i didnt get it.

Re: REALLY need ur advise on pickup selection

One pickup you migh like concernig what you asked..
I just tried Air Zone..its very PAF like but with lot of bass(like Breed) and BIG balls..and very defined clear distorted chords.
I heard Tone Zone and Air Zone is like: clearer, more defined, bit less output, more PAF like. Its not so screaming as TZ,and harmonics are not TZ crazy but you get clearer more defined tone thats great for chords stuff..even 5 note chords sound good clear defined..but really POWERFULL too..it's kind of "brown" pleasant distorsion..solo passages sound good,smooth..so its great combination with screaming neck pickup for heavy solos,or a more trebbly, less bass pickup for more "nicer and kind"
In one sentence its like Breed with more PAF like "brown" sound..
