reasons dimarzio sound better than duncans in a RG?
many have always said that the dimarzio's sound better in the RG's
is this due to the fact the RG have the super
thin wizard neck
and are bolt on's?

Re: reasons dimarzio sound better than duncans in a RG?
It's all about personal tase, really. I've tried two guitars with custom pickups made. I tried a Godin LGX signature model with Custom SDs and they sound good, great for jazz, and quite good for hi-gain settings too. It all depends on the wood your using too. The reason why some people say that Dimarzios are better in an RG is because Dimarzio has been long in collaboration with Ibanez than any other pickup company. A lot of Ibanez artists such as Vai, Satch, Gilbert, Timmons, and Petrucci (pre EB) use Dimarzios as their pickups of cohice.

to me dimarzio have more feeling and dont sound as blan . They have more of a tonal feeling. I like it, it isn't standard or ordinary . I can't really discribe it .

petrucci still uses Dimarzio in his EB guitars. though they are "custom" (read as higher mids)

no.
Because it's perceived that way.
if your guitar heroes use Duncan, you'll think otherwise.
My RG with Dimarzio X2N and Breed sounds good.
My other RG equipped with Duncan Screamin Demon and
Duncan Distortion
sounds equally good. Both serve different purpose of playing.

Re: reasons dimarzio sound better than duncans in a RG?
I have thought of putting duncans in Ibanezs several times, but something always stops me.
I always think Dimarzio for Ibanez, and Duncan for Jackson. Maybe it's because those are the pu brands that the manufacturers use themselves.
I am using a Bare Knuckle Miracle Man in my Charvel, I bet that breaks all sorts of rules.

I know he still uses Dimarzios, I was just referring to him when he was still with Ibanez.

Dimarzios tend to have more midrange than Duncan, thus....
Duncan for mahogany
Dimarzio for basswood/alder.
