Replacing the Switch

I'm wondering if a Fender Standard 5-way switch will fit on a S540LTD. Those switches are easier to work around. Plus, why is there a capacitor on the volume pot as well? It's my first ibanez and the wiring is a little bit confusing to me.

Will it be fine if i take that capacitor on the volume knob off when I replace the pickups with Seymours?

I think the fender-type 5-way switch will fit because i replaced mine with 3-way switch from all-parts and it fits. The capacitor on the volume pot is a treble bleed mod. Meaning to say you don't lose treble when rolling-off the volume.
