I'll post the outcome here for anyone that's interested. Might take a little while though.

Re: RG 470 bridge pup - Can't decide....

Just finished installing the Norton in the bridge. First impression : clarity and string separation have improved 100%. Drive seems to be a little less than the INF2. (But it sounds way better clean.) Still have to experiment a bit with height adjustments to get a tad more drive out of it and to balance it with the others.
Air Norton is coming next........

Go figure.... As it turns out I wired it up the wrong way 'round. D'oh ! After correcting it all I can say is : WOW !!
It's fat sounding with plenty harmonics, good string separation, clarity, and it has some serious balls. Definitely a keeper for me.

Re: RG 470 bridge pup - Can't decide....

the regular norton is my favorite dimarzio ever
it has all the elements of the other dimarzios i love all in one pup
it is very paf like but has more of the balls of the tone zone
the tone zone to me is too over the top and the norton is perfect
it has mega harmonics and a real distinctive lead voice
reminds me a lot of a gibson T-top paf but only hotter
listen to early vanhalen to hear what a norton sounds `like in the bridge
in my guitar the norton is very eruption toned

I can only agree with you on that. It's an awesome pup.
