RG pickup switch rewiring. Help please!

I have an RG1077XLRB. It has three pickups-bridge humbucker, middle single coil, and neck humbucker.
The pickup selection options are a standard ibanez HSH confuguration:
-First (lever pionting toward neck)=Neck humbucker.
-Second=Neck single coil and middle single coil.
-Third=middle single coil.
-Fourth=middle single coil and bridge single coil.
-Fifth (lever pointing towards tone pot)=bridge humbucker.
That is how it was. The problem? I cannot use both humbuckers at once.
I want to change the second position to (which I don't use) to being both humbuckers.
Has anyone done a modification like this? Is it possible? How does it sound? Was it extremely complicated? Is it worth doing? Are there schematics that show the difference in wiring?
There is another small twist to this scenario. I hired a guy to do the modification. He got the two humbuckers together (in the fourth position) but now the rest of the options are all messed up. Now I have the first position where the third was and so on... I am hoping that won't mess things up for me later on.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Hey, I'm a member! Wahoo!

I'm not quite sure that you can get both humbuckers in the second or fourth position, but I know there's a diagram that I saw online that allowed for both neck and bridge humbuckers to be on in the middle position....
Let me see if I can find that again...

A HA!
Here ya go...look at this, it might be a better suit for you:

Just look thru the wiring diagrams section of www.guitarelectronics.com - there's some good stuff there.

Thanks.
The wiring diagram would certainly be better than how it is now, but I am always usung that middle single coil on it's own. Perhaps I can rig up a push/pull switch that controls the single coil's volume. That would be cool.
