Hey all, I have been switching out tone pots to 250K in my RG's and I did the
RG4 last night. I figured while I was doing it, I would replace the volume pot that was hard to turn. The only thing I had though was the 500K pot that I took out of the tone position of my RG370. Wired it up (after figuring out that I had the bridge and neck wrong) and when I plugged in, got a pleasant surprise (no did not get shocked)
If I turn the volume low on the guitar, it cleans up very nicely, even with a higher gain setting on the amp. Crank the volume and it get mean very quickly.
The only bad thing that I noticed was that the tone got a lot more middy, to the point where I had to adjust it down on the amp.
Did I do something right or wrong? I have just never noticed such a big difference in the volume control before. Would a change make it more mid pronounced?
