RG7321 switching mods

I currently have a RG7321 and I'd like to add some extra features to it through swapping out the stock volume and tone for push pull pots, and possibly add some mini switches to get what I want. Might even go to a 3 way switch if that's necessary. If necessary I will change the pickups to better DiMarzio's.

Looking for the following setups not in any particular switching order; neck in series, neck in parallel, neck+bridge standard, bridge in parallel, bridge in series
and add coil splitting to both humbuckers to give me single coil variations.

Any help and opinions would be appreciated.

Naw, you could do that with a Dimarzio multi-pole switch and then just add a push-pull tone pot to get the split options that you want.

as lyconxero says, this is easily doable with a 24-pole, 5-way switch. i have a scan of a wiring diagram for this scheme from an old issue of the Stewart Macdonald catalog. http://www.his.com/~sha3u/gear/2hb-parallel-stewmac.jpg . you'll need to change the exact pole assignments to fit whatever brand of 24-pole switch you use [they don't all have the same # poles in the same places].

this you can do with one push/pull pot. decide which coils you want to cut off or on, and run the appropriate wires through the push/pull before they go to the 5-way switch.

if you want to get really fancy, you can wire your coil-cutting into the 5-way switch so that it only coil cuts in certain positions. i did that to my RG2027--the humbuckers are split in the bridge and neck positions, but the middle positions are the same.

Re: RG7321 switching mods

you can do all that with a super switch or the vlx-91. the 4 pole switches give an almost endless amount of options. so what your askins, scott, is really easy. you will just need to figure out the schematic for yourself and it will end up looking stock.
