S-Series pickup recommendations (H-H)

I picked up an SF420 on the bay, but the pickups are driving me nuts. Somebody replaced the neck AH1 with something other than an AH1...it's much more dynamic and higher output than the AH2 in the bridge, which I'm not psyched about either...

So..an open call for pickup recommendations for a fixed bridge S-Series!

I play everything from clean Praise & Worship stuff to Metallica, Megadeth, etc...So I'd like a pretty flexible combination of clean strumming with open chords to high-gain power chords and riffage.
I've got an RG550 with EMGs for really tearing it up, so when in doubt, err to the clean/jazzy/strummy side.

The SF420 is mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, fixed bridge. I've played with the Dimarzio pickup selector so much that I've gotten just about every combination of pickups recommended to me so far, so I figured I'd ask the Jemsiters!

(And yes, I know that they also reversed the AH2 in the bridge...I've since taken care of this.)

Thanks!

Seymour Duncan JB (bridge)
Seymour Duncan Jazz (Neck)

that's a really great combo right there. Very classic sounding and high powered for riffage (Dave Mustaine of Megadeth uses that very combo).

Tone Zone and Air Norton. They were good enough for J.Custom S series guitars.

He probably did use them in years past but now he uses the Duncan Livewires(active pups).

Second that.

If you don't like the Tone Zone, a Super Distortion works well. Air Norton is just the sweetest thing in the neck on a S.

Thanks for the replies!

How are the cleans on an Air Norton? I'm thinking that the neck pickup in this guitar is going to be the real workhorse, the bridge probably less so.
