While researching which guitar I'll get next, the S620 popped up as an interesting possibility. I really want a guitar with a cool top, and Quilted Maple is among my favorite. It did got me thinking about the pickups though...they are EMG built, but are they active? I'm guessing not, but I can't seem to find any more info on these.
I also guess it's a simple swap between EMG and
DiMarzio? I'm thinking a FRED/PAF Pro combo for it, since from what I read the stock EMG sucks. It seems to be a good combo as well, since Joe had it in his
Mahogany JSs and his tone is my reference point
