Seven string pickup closest to the Bill Lawrence L-500xl ?

I really like the sound of Nuno and Dime at high gain and cleans. Very articulated. The 500xl helps a lot to get those tone. I also like the versatility of it. Seems like it sounds good in any guitar. What do you think has the closest sound to the 500xl pickup for the 7 string? I guess I'm looking for a pickup that has a great crunch (pantera or metallica-like), clear on low strings (i hate mud), and has articulate and clear sound when shredding. Good highs but not piercing. Too bad they won't do a pickup for 7 stringers. What is a good substitute? I have a regular tone Zone and it is very muddy to my ears when with High gain so the TZ7 is probably out. Thanks.

Bill did a run of 7-string XL's but I think they were pretty limited. I wonder if they could knock up a few more sets?

Maybe a X2N-7 ? I have a regular X2N and it is never ever muddy, nice and trebley, but not piercing. The tone zone would be the opposite of a X2N !

Someone on sevenstring.org ordered one, it was a 6 string pickup with longer poles on it. Yuck.

X2N-7, D-Activator, or Blaze Custom might work. I love the D-Sonic-7, but it's a bit noisy in some instances(depending on rig, home wiring, etc. Nothing a good gate wouldn't take care of, but it's still there).

Yeah, very depressing. I probably would've ordered one had they been a correct 7 string pickup, just to try out.

BTW, here's the thread, photos are intact still:

OK, I read the thread. Wow. I can't believe Bill did this. What a huge let-down! The L-500 series are amazing, I would love to hear a 7-string version.
