seymour duncan

Today i discovered that SD trembuckers don't fit the bridge position on 550 pickguard. They are little bigger then the hole.
That seemed odd cause i always thought they were similar size as f spaced Dimarzios.

Assuming the pickup you removed was f-spaced. If its easier or cheaper at that point of manufacture, to get hold of gibson spaced pickguards and or pickups, they will use them. Thats why in all the small print it says "specifications may change at any time" etc.

SD dont have f spaced markings, they call it trembucker. and its used for tremolo equipped guitars just like floyd rose or edge... etc.

Re: seymour duncan

I'd heard that they didn't fit other pickup rings before too. That said, I have an SD in the pickup ring on my 540-R and it fits fine.

Re: seymour duncan

Duncan pickups in general are a bit larger than Dimarzio's. On a few models that I've seen Duncan's standard spacing is fairly close to Dimarzio's F spacing.
