I got my guitar back with new pickups installed today, so decided to do a rough recording to demo the sounds. Apologies for the sloppy/twangy recording in places, also the sounds are from Line 6 Gearbox. Basically you have some sounds of the
Distortion on a high-gain setting, some solo work on the
Jazz, some finger/spanky clean stuff (going through the 5-way switch from bridge to neck) and then the same picked.
Ibanez S320 (mahogany body)
Bridge: TB-6 Distortion Trembucker
Neck: SH-2n Jazz
Here it is
I have to say that doesn't nearly do the pickups justice, but thought it might help if it's in any way indicative of the sounds. I tried them through my luthier's Laney combo and on the clean setting they were so wonderful and glassy (having a fresh string set helps mind you). It was even good on my Line 6 Spider. I would also play some faster tighter stuff but I'd have to really sit down proper and nail some tight recordings which takes long hours of swearing and grunting until I get it right!
For anyone wanting to know the GearBox settings, the distorted tone preset can be found on the Line 6 site. It's called "British Metal".
