Should I do this?

I have a BLUSA 500XL and a DiMarzio PAF Pro and I want to coil tap them. I have 2 extra SPDT switches just laying there and I want to put them to use. I have the idea from a website called

http://www.guitarelectronics.com/pro...g_Usage.html#2

Its the 1st two mods on there. My question is will I have different sounds and will they still be humbucking?

yes and no... you'll have an additional 2 "single coil" sounds for each humbucker hooked up to one SPDT switch; however, it would not be in "humbucking" mode once you coil-tap either of them...
I've coiled tap an X2N and it literally sounds like half of that pickup, might be the same way with BL 500XL...
so ya, if you can make holes for the SPDT switches, go for it!
