Re: Should i install a MO JOE to my JS1000?

Just ordered my new joe-joe combination pickups, my js1000 sounds crap, even after a Ģ80 pro setup, i think theres probably a fault with my current neck pickup anyways.

Will keep you`s posted about this.

Did the new pickups make you happy? I am considering the same swap for a guitar I am getting from Ibanez Rules. Is it really worth doing?

Re: Should i install a MO JOE to my JS1000?

I've replaced the pu on my js1000 and i'm more than happy with the result! I wasn't really at ease with the power of the fred and the paf pro had too much bass on E and A strings, the mo'joe and the paf joe solved that problem. The only downside is that i gave up a certain tone with the paf pro, think of a perfect raspery jam delta V studio tone! But this set (mojoe/pafjoe) had really increased the personality and versatility of my tone, which is paradoxal for a set of signature PU!!

How would you compare the MoJoe to the Fred?

I know what Dimarzio's site says, but how would you define it?

Re: Should i install a MO JOE to my JS1000?

Well, sorry but the dimarzio website tells the truth, the mo'joe is a fred with bigger balls! To me, its a different pu, with character, it is a matter of taste, i was bored with the fred, i bought the Js1000btb in early 2009 and felt dissapointed, i am not satch and i do not have his touch and feel! But what i can say is that this sig pu are as well a success as his sig guitars. Anyway some would prefer the fred i suppose...

I was consoding the same as to whether i should change to a mojo cause i find the Fred sounds way to high and ear piercing. I did however change the pafpro cause i thought it was too bassy and muddy in the low strings but i changed it to the pafjoe and im dissapointed cause it sounds exactly the same. Its so bassy and muddy sounding that i dont even want to use it.

Put a MoJo in the bridge, then move your Fred to the neck....you'll never go back!!!

Might be a good pickup for my '80's hair metal shredder project that I'm going to start at some point. . . .
