Should I replace tone- and volume pots?

When I roll back the volume on my new RG 570, it makes a cracking sound. This happens when I play with headphones.
How good are Ibanez's pots anyway? Should I replace them (and with what brand)? And is it a big job to replace cause I'm going to get my pups replaced soon at a guitar shop and they could do it at the same time?

Btw, can I install a high pass filter to my guitar? Like the one high end Jems have.

Yes to all of the above. It should cost you little more extra to have the pots changed with the pups. Don't worry about it, very routine and costs very little. I'm certian that Ibanez/Dimarzio recommends 500K pots instead of the standard 250k fender style pots...

You might just want to give them a quick squirt of electrical cleaner before you spend money on new pots. It could solve the problem.

So everyone buying a new Ibanez guitar should at first replace the pots?
