Single coil 7's

I was just browsing one of my fav sites (Dimarzio). Is the single coil 7's you see in Vai's UV's a custom thing? On my next project I want to do a Hum/single config. I don't see them available on the website.

Re: Single coil 7's

it is called "701 blaze middle" and appears on the actual site - but without photo. you can order them in every shop - great pickup solo and in combination with the blaze-2 humbucker.

Re: Single coil 7's

I have a Tom Anderson custom wound 7 single in my UV.

It's FAR more manly than the Blaze. I remember pulling the Blaze out when i replaced it - it felt like a little plastic toy from MacDonalds.

I believe I got it from Warmouth, but it was quite a few years ago.

Kenny, I've seen your UV on here before...I must say that is a gorgeous guitar with that swirl pickguard!

Re: Single coil 7's

The Blaze single is nothing special. The only good after market single left (the Andersons are long gone) is the Rio Grande TallBoy
