Someone sell me on GFS pickups

I bought a JB Jr for my strat, but I'm already thinking about taking it out and putting in all single coils, because I dont have any other good Strats. This thing plays awesome though, so I kind of want to keep the Jb jr in there so I can use the guitar more. Not that that has anything to do with my problem. If I pull out the Jb Jr and put in all new singles, how are the GFS single coils. I like the price, but I dont trust going with off brands and not knowing what Im getting. Im looking at the premium texas pickups.

I haven't used the GFS single coils, only the GFS 'Lil Killer 6K, and a few of their humbuckers. It'd be best to contact Jay over at GFS about the Premium Texas'. He's good at recommending which set would suit your needs.

Cid, I cant recommend GFS enough. They are impecible, especially for the price. Ive said it before but the only two guitar related items I have run across that actually live up to thier advertisments are GFS Pickups and the "surfpicks" off of evilbay.

I put a set of '64 Texas grey bottoms in my Highway 1 strat and the thing just SANG after the swap. On a side note, I put a Callaham trem in it and now it is to die for.

Just look all over the net for rave reviews. There's way too many good reviews for it to be a fluke or just some uninformed users.
A friend of mine has the texas specials in his project strat and they sound really nice. It makes you wonder about the price of some boutique pickups. I mean pickups are not rocket science.

Re: Someone sell me on GFS pickups

I have GFS singles in one of my strats, and Carvin AP-11s in the other. I personally prefer the Carvins, as they have more mids while still getting a nice strat twang, but GFS pickups seem uniformly good to me. I've had their Nashville humbuckers before, and those were cool for a Brian Setzer type sound.
