Split sound of TZ + AN versus TZ+BV+AN

Very simple question here. Let's say I have two guitars. One is HH and one is HSH.

The HH has a tone zone and an air norton.

The HSH has a tone zone, and air norton and a blue velvet.

Which one will have the better split coil sounds? Assuming they both have 5 way Iby wiring.

Obviously, "better" is an incredibly subjective term, so this will be a rather difficult question to answer. I generally prefer the tone options offered by Ibanez's HH 5-way switch, but is it better? Who's to say?

I agree. If you can, go to a music shop and try to find 2 guitars that you can compare in the same way as you outlined. I haven't used a 5way HH setup but I have tried a 3 way HH with a push/pull pot. I prefered HSH as i felt I could get more sounds out of it, the push pull lowered the output but didnt seem to do AS much to the tone as introducing a complete new pickup (like in positions 2 and 4 in a 5 way HSH)
