ok. I put an evolution 7 into this instrument and its been my worse nightmare. I've never heard a pickup that was as harsh as this is! I got it real cheap which is the reason i tried it. Where do i start...too much bite, too much brightness, and not very well balanced. I had to pull the pole pieces way up on the top because my low b string was about half the volume of the the high E. Try rolling down the gain a bit and this pickup sounds as thin as paper with no warmth to speak of. I'm looking for something versatile as I enjoy playing many styles at high and low gain. I guess my ideal tone would be a cross between petruccis and carlos santanas. I would like some input into which of the available 7
string pickups I should blow some more money on.
