Super Distortion/Tone zone?

I'm torn between placing these two pickups in the bridge of my Ibanez FGM400 which one do you think is the best, The Super Distortion or the Tone Zone?

None is the best, both are very good pickups. SuperDistortion is hotter and have a more traditional sound, ToneZone is not as hot (but is hot) and have a very contemporany sound.

The Tone Zone is extremely ballsy

I suggest you the combination Super 2 (neck) with Super 3 (bridge).

Leandro, I've heard nothing but good things about the Super 2 and Super 3 combo, but can you get a good bluesy tone out of them as well as a rock/metal tone?

They´re just the best for legato, tapping, picking, shreddings, heavy tones.

Super D.

- not as muddy as the TZ
- more powerful
- it cuts through better than the TZ

does anyone has one of the pickups in an ibanez sz520/320/720?
i play it through a marshall jcm2555 and play in a heavy rock band.
i wanted to buy the TZ but dimarzio suggested i´d be happier with the SD, because it had a tighter bass response.
additionally i heard that the TZ sounded muddy in a les paul and since the SZ520 is made of the same wood......
is the difference between these 2 PUs so "strong"? what is meant with ballsy (excuse me but i´m from germany )
in some posts it says the TZ sounds muddy, other says the SD does.......
i´m totally confused....

I'd go with the SD for mahogany, TZ for Basswood. Or, a Steve Morse bridge pickup if you can find one used for either.

i just ordered the SD. i hope i fits my sound imagination. if not i´ll trade it for the TZ or sth else.
but i thing the SD is not the worst pickup for my style of music.
